Configuring eduroam or any other WPA-Enterprise network on Symbian phones is quite difficult compared to other devices; fortunately, it only needs to be done once.
Step 1: Adding the network
Adding the network (via 'Network destinations' menu):
- Go to Settings → Connectivity → Settings → Network destinations → Internet
(Older versions: Tools → Settings → Connections → Access points)
- Select Add new access point → Wi-Fi and enter these settings:
- Network name: eduroam
- Network mode: Infrastructure (public)
- Security mode: WPA/WPA2
- WPA mode: EAP
- Open the newly-added “eduroam” entry to edit its settings.

(If there is no 'Edit' option, use the 'Network destinations' instructions instead.)
Part 2: Configuring the network
After you've selected the "Edit" menu item, you'll see the network's parameters.
- Open Wi-Fi security settings
- Make sure WPA mode is set to ‘EAP’
- Open EAP plug-in settings
- Enable the EAP-PEAP plugin, but disable EAP-AKA, EAP-SIM, EAP-TLS, and everything else.
- Open the “EAP-PEAP” entry to edit it. Configure as follows.
